New technology for keen baristas

United Coffee is showcasing the new Aurelia II T3 traditional espresso machine on the Caterer and Hotelkeeper stand at Hotelympia this week.

Launching in March 2012, it uses a system with three different temperature control points, which allow baristas to control each steam arm individually.

Each steam arm also has its own spotlight for better visibility and a new cool-touch technology. Erogation mirrors sit at the back of the machine to improve the shot-pouring process.

Launched in conjunction with United Coffee's 75th anniversary year of manufacturing coffee equipment, they have also had a new three-year contract confirmed at the World Barista Championship.

To complete their celebrations, United Coffee UK & Ireland's barista, Lynsey Harley, has been appointed by the Speciality Coffee Association Europe as its UK Chapter Co-ordinator, following a vote by its members.

Harley will be responsible for co-ordinating and developing the organisation's competitions, as well as looking to develop wider benefits for members.
