Newhey carpets has Edge Hotel School covered
The Edge Hotel School in Essex is housed in an 18th-century Grade II-listed building with a contemporary new garden wing. It utilised Newhey Carpets' complete portfolio of products to complement the traditional and modern areas.
More than 2,400sq m of Axminster, Colortec+ and Graphics Tufted carpets were manufactured for the project.
Owned by the University of Essex, Edge Hotel School is a hospitality training centre set within a commercial hotel environment.
Hampshire-based interior design company Elizabeth Designs came up with seven designs to help retain the country house feel of the historic Wivenhoe House and reflect the contemporary architecture of the new wing.
Axminster in a classic foliage design was chosen for the main staircase and corridor areas in the original building to match the traditional setting and offer optimum performance in high-traffic areas.
Elizabeth Warden, founder of Elizabeth Designs, said: "It was a pleasure working with Newhey Carpets on this project as they quickly understood the design brief for each area and worked hard to ensure that the designs and planning of their installation ran smoothly on site with the appointed flooring contractor."
