Nigel Barden to host The National Fish & Chip Awards 2015

Nigel Barden, the voice of ‘food and drink' on the BBC Radio 2 show, Drive Time with Simon Mayo has been announced as the presenter for the National Fish & Chip Awards 2015.

Barden will take to the stage at The Lancaster London hotel on 20 January 2015, where he will annouce the annual fish and chip business awards winners.

"I'm a huge fan of seafood and one of my earliest memories is eating fish and chips out of a newspaper on the pier with my grandparents. I now love munching on them with my three young sons," said Barden.

Organised by Seafish, the UK's authority on seafood, The National Fish & Chip Awards recognise outstanding people and businesses performing at the top of their game now in their 27th year.

Paul Williams, chief executive of Seafish, said: "Nigel is a pedigree foodie having been extolling the virtues of British food on the BBC since 1990 and as chairman of the tasting panel for the Great Taste Awards, championing British artisan food producers. What's more he has the charisma of a showman so we've got the whole package with him."
