PepsiCo to cut carbon emissions by 50%

PepsiCo UK and Ireland is working with 350 British farmers to slash the carbon emissions and water consumption for its core UK crops by more than 50% over the next five years.

Initiatives outlined in its first Sustainable Farming Report include the roll-out of its web-based i-crop 'precision farming' tool, trials of low-carbon fertilisers, and plans to replace more than 75% of its UK potato stock with higher-yield, lower-waste varieties by 2015.
