Award-winning cheeses from Wales and Spain are the latest newcomers to the dairy offer from H&B Foods.
Perl Wen Organic and Perl Lâs Organic Blue (sold in 250g and 450g weights) are made by Caws Cenarth Cheese in Dyfed using skills derived from six generations of family cheesemaking.
The young Perl Wen Organic combines the characteristics of a Caerphilly and a Brie, with a soft outside surrounding a lemony centre, and matures into a paler, brown-tinged cheese with a soft paste.
The Perl Lâs Organic Blue (past winner of a gold medal in the British Cheese Awards) has a light taste and salty flavour when young, maturing into a golden cheese with a strong but delicate taste.
The Spanish Monte Enebro cheese (winner of five gold medals in the UK alone) is a pasteurised goats' milk cheese made in the Tiétar Valley, Avila. It mixes the milk from two varieties of valley-raised goat (Verata and Serrana) to produce a cheese with a creamy yet intense flavour, said to have a woody aroma and hints of herbs and hazelnuts.
The cheese is moulded by hand, matured for up to two months and produces slices shaped like mules' hooves.
