Premium melts from Macphie

Caterers can now easily update menu staples such as jacket potatoes, burgers and mushrooms with the help of a new range of frozen, cheese-based discs from Macphie that aim to transform low-cost foods into premium-priced main meals.
The discs - which contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives - are simply popped on to the food before it is fully cooked and then oven-baked or grilled to 75øC just before serving.
There are four flavours - Smoky Bacon and Jack Cheese, Four Cheese and Chive, Mediterranean, and Jalapeňo Chilli, and Jack Cheese - which are supplied in 40 x 25g cases and carry a wholesale price of £13 per case.
