The Radisson Blu Edinburgh](http://www.radissonblu.co.uk/hotel-edinburgh?facilitator=BIGMOUTHMEDIAREZIDOR&gclid=CP76o_ma7q0CFUoifAodj3AK4w&csref=g_en_sk_brand_3_ediza) has been crowned the Hotel Sustainable Champion of the Year by refrigeration supplier [Gram UK](http://www.gram-commercial.com), which has recently published the hotel edition of its Gram Green Paper exploring hospitality's attitudes and responses to green issues.
One of the judges, Caterer and Hotelkeeper's products editor, Lisa Jenkins, was particularly impressed by the hotel's efforts to reduce both chemical use and beverage deliveries.
Fellow judge John Firrell, director of the Considerate Hoteliers Association, praised the readiness of staff to embrace the hotel's green agenda.
Third judge Robert Croft, chairman of the Institute of Hospitality Midlands branch, said the hotel's "green team" kept it ahead of the pack and described its recycling of soaps and shampoos as "very innovative".
The hotel's prize - an energy-efficient Gram refrigerator from the Carbon Trust's Energy Technology List - will take pride of place in the Edinburgh hotel's newly-refurbished kitchen.
