Rainforest Alliance-certifed coffees from Café du Monde

Licensed Fairtrade distributor Café du Monde has introduced two Rainforest Alliance-certified coffees based on beans from the acclaimed Monte Sión farm in El Salvador.

Premier Cru beans, designed for espressos, use 35% Monte Sión coffee blended with other quality beans from Brazil, Honduras and Uganda yielding, according to the taster's notes, a ‘sweet caramel and toffee flavour, balanced with subtle acidity, smooth balanced flavour and a medium body with hints of floral notes'.

The second newcomer is a roasted, ground and filter-packed coffee for bulk brew (five litres) and smaller portions to make up a 1.8-litre jug.

The filter coffee combines Monte Sión beans with Royal AA-processed Indian coffees, Detarra estate Brazilian beans and Kenya AAs to provide rich, smooth brews with dark chocolate/cocoa notes.
