Ready risottos from Tilda
Caterers who lack the time or the skills to make risotto from scratch now have three authentic Italian flavours to choose from in the new range of frozen risottos from rice specialist Tilda.
The risottos take just five minutes to prepare from frozen using a 1,900W catering microwave but are claimed to taste just as good as freshly prepared dishes because they are handmade by chefs. The risottos, which avoid the use of artificial flavours and colours, come in three Mediterranean flavours: Primavera, Chicken and Asparagus, and Sicilian, Lemon, Chicken and Thyme.
They are supplied in cases of 28 x 400g portions in snap-lid trays. According to Tilda, risotto is growing in popularity among consumers, with retail sales rising by 21%.
