Seafood specialist Phillips Foods is claiming a UK first with its new ready-to-use tubs of pasteurised king crab meat from Vietnam which will save caterers time spent stripping the meat from the shell.
The fully cooked mix of crab body, knuckles and red leg sections is made without preservatives, brine or liquid, but has a refrigerated shelf life of 18 months. It can be used in sautéed, salad, pasta and rice dishes, or as a topping for other proteins, and has year-round availability. Phillips supplies the king crab in cases of 6 x 454g tubs.
