Record entries for 2013 Beverage Standard Awards
This year's Beverage Standards Association (BSA) awards have attracted mroe than 200 entries breaking all records since the awards were re-launched three years ago.
Martyn Herriott, executive director, BSA, said: "When we opened the nominations in late January this year, we hoped to double the number of entries from 2012.
We have exceeded this by a further 50% and the spread of entries is much wider than last year with a dramatic increase in the number of entries from Scotland especially.
Ranald Paterson, chairman of the assessors (pictured), commented: "The 'Cups on The Door' category accreditations awarded to all entrants have been proven to increase new custom by as much as 300%.
"A BSA award accreditation is a guarantee of high standards for drinks, service, comfort and value for money. It is also the strongest weapon independent drinks' retailers have to grow and prosper in competition with the big multi-national groups."
