Search is on to find the 2014 barbecue champion

The search is on to find the 2014 barbecue champion in this year's Crown Verity British BBQ Battle.

Competitors have to submit a three-course BBQ menu incorporating at least one product from co-sponsor Lion Sauces with a spin on British favourites for the chance to win the coveted title and a £3,000 Crown Verity BBQ.

Shortlisted finalists will be invited to compete at a BBQ cook-off on 18 June at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire where they will have to create their three courses within an hour.

All eight finalists will be rewarded with a Sharp LED TV, a Simply Stainless Professional Chef's table and exclusive British BBQ Battle chef's whites. The winner will also walk away with a top of the range Crown Verity BBQ and accessories pack.

All prizes, worth an estimated £11,000 are kindly provided by leading foodservice equipment supplier RH Hall, the exclusive distributor in the UK for Crown Verity, Sharp and Simply Stainless.

Closing date for entries is Friday, 2 May 2014.
