Self-cleaning CareControl combis from Rational

The popular SelfCooking Center combis from Rational are now available, at no extra cost, with intelligent CareControl technology that slashes running costs and saves operators space and time.

The combis never need to be descaled, do not require a bulky water filter (both key drivers of service problems) and clean themselves when only they need to.

The ovens monitor what is being cooked and for how long and tell staff to run the cleaning programme only when it is required. This involves popping a biodegradable care tab and detergent tablets into the appropriate holders and pushing a button - the machine determines the required level of cleaning, thus reducing the use of water and chemicals.

The care tab includes scale-dissolving ingredients, so the steam generator operates at optimum efficiency and caterers need not invest in expensive water softeners or filters.

CareControl models, which have been on trial with Alan Bird at the Ivy in London, carry a two-year guarantee.
