Springboard Peru trek for Roberts and Kinkead

Glenn Roberts, managing director of Gram UK, and Stephen Kinkead (pictured), managing director of Winterhalter UK, have committed to raise £10,000 for Springboard UK in the lead up to and during their imminent trek to Peru.

The charity expedition, which takes place on 11-22 March 2016, will see a group of volunteer supporters travel to one of the most isolated regions of Peru, and embark on a gruelling five-day trek followed by a community project to bring sustainable energy to a remote Peruvian school.

The trekkers will also be raising money to improve the lives of young people who face difficulties and hardship in the UK.

"Both Stephen and I spent our early careers working in catering and it's great to have this opportunity to give something back," said Roberts.

"As for the trek, I used to do a lot of walking and although I know I will be exhausted by the end of it, I will really enjoy being back in the mountains. Mind, there is the issue of spending an extended period in a tent with Kinky…"

Kinkead added: "Seriously, we know it will be tough but it will also be a fabulous experience. More importantly, we'll not only be supporting Springboard, which is an absolutely top charity, but also, hopefully, using whatever talents we have to help children in this remote Peruvian school."
