For one week in February the humble chip becomes without doubt the centre of attention. Chip shops, restaurants and pubs can all look to National Chip Week 2012, which is held from 20th-26th February, as a great way to celebrate the fried spud.
AAK Foodservice is Europe's leading manufacturer of speciality oils and fats. Understanding the unique qualities of its Prep range and the fact it's more than just cooking oil has been made even easier for operators in the foodservice industry. This is thanks in no uncertain terms to the release of a brand new Prep oil management kit.
"Oil management is an extension of our customer care and adds to our ethos of innovation combined with 40 years experience in the industry. Effective oil management is vital and providing the right tools to achieve that is completely necessary," said Rachel Neale, AAK Foodservice marketing manager.
Rachel said: "The kits contain a DVD, which is a great resource tool for operators to watch and be confident about getting the most out of their oil. Choosing an oil to meet the particular requirements of your business is essential. Everything from information on fryer maintenance and filtering to cooking at the correct temperature is covered in the DVD. Advice includes how to filter your oil and re-fill your fryer safely and correctly and the importance of following our daily frying checklist. The DVD includes hints and tips on effective and efficient use of your oil and how to utilise your A3 Guide to Good Frying which is available within all our Prep Oil Management and Filtration Kits.
"Operators are encouraged to use the guidelines shown in the DVD as a rule and use all the materials from their Prep oil management kits. The kit involves a new Prep re-usable filter, a Prep filter holder; Prep thermometer, skimmer and Prep discard kit. The kits and all their components are available from the Prep website."
