Sushi and Robata first UK sushi restaurant to be certified by MSC

Japanese barbecue-style restaurant Sushi and Robata in London's Kensington has become the only sushi restaurant in the UK to be certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

Scallops, cod and Chilean sea bass dishes at the restaurant are now able to be marked with a MSC blue tick which gives diners the confidence that their fish is sustainable. The Chilean sea bass is the first on a menu in the UK to be certified.

George Clark, UK commercial manager at MSC said: "Becoming the UK's only MSC certified sushi restaurant is fantastic news for Sushi and Robata. It's always great to see an already impressive menu enhanced by the addition of certified sustainable fish. They should be proud to be leading the way for other restaurants and doing their bit to protect the world's oceans."

Sushi and Robata launched in June 2016 at Whole Foods Market in Kensington. The menu is developed by managing director Silla Bjerrum who adds Nordic influences to the dishes, and chefs Tsvetan Gerganov and Masa Tanaka who use their passion for Japanese food to create seasonal menus.
