Ten Acre wins innovation award
Premium crisps and popcorn brand Ten Acre has picked up an innovation award for its latest launch, Cousin Penelope's Strawberry & Cream Popcorn.
The Manchester-based manufacturer was crowned winner at the Belgium Inn'awards for the latest addition to its family of free from plus snacks. All 17 Ten Acre products are gluten, dairy, MSG and GMO-free, vegan, vegetarian, halal and kosher certified.
The award crowns a busy month for the business as founders Tony Goodman and Jimmy Attias were invited to rub shoulders with the prime minister David Cameron last week, at a Food is Great event in Downing Street.
Cameron commented: "Today I was proud to host some of the finest food and drink producers from across Britain. Their products are popular not just here, but across Europe and many of them do significant amounts of trade with the continent."
Ten Acre CEO Tony Goodman remarked after meeting the prime minister: "We are proud of what we have achieved since we launched Ten Acre two years ago both at home, and especially in the export markets around the world. Ten Acre [is] flying the flag for Great British food and [is] now exporting to more than 30 countries."
