Three new Wrappe flavours from Love Joes have been designed to help caterers tap into shifting eating-out-of-home patterns with healthier hot snacks that appeal at different times of the day.
Research by Allegra shows that snacking is increasingly spread out across the day - of the £40.4b informal eating-out market, some £2.1b, or 5%, of the £40.4b informal eating-out market is spent at breakfast, while £3b, or 8%, is spent in the mid-morning or afternoon.
The three newcomers are: All Day Breakfast, combining pork sausage, baked beans, eggs and bacon in a tomato sauce; Falafel and Sweet Chilli, comprising falafel, carrot and cabbage in a sweet chilli tomato sauce; and Meatball and Tomato.
Like the existing four flavours, they are made from fresh ingredients and then preserved by freezing. Waste and contamination is avoided as the Wrappes do not require defrosting and are cooked in their plastic wrappers for 25-35 minutes before being serving in cardboard wraps.
