Tibard celebrates 35 years in business

Restaurant and hotel clothing manufacturer Tibard celebrates its 35th anniversary this month.

Founded in 1979, Tibard's first major national account was with the Whitbread Group, an account it still maintains to this day.

The business has gone on to become a distributor for more than 4,000 restaurant chains including Pizza Express, TGI Fridays and The Restaurant Group of companies incorporating Frankie and Benny's, Chiquito and Garfunkels.

Recognised as one of Europe's Top 500 small to medium enterprises, the family-run business has three generations of the same family working within its sales team and employs generations of other families from throughout the local area, with several members of staff having worked for the company for more than 25 years.

Tibard founder and chairman, John Shonfeld said: "It has been a long journey to get where we are today and it would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our staff. While Tibard may have grown around my vision and ideas, the success and continued growth of the business is down to them."
