Tilda Chef Team of the Year 2021 finalists compete today

Tilda has announced the chef teams competing in the final of Tilda Chef Team of the Year 2021 at Salon Culinaire.

The final will held today at the University of West London, during which the judging panel will pick 2021's chef duo champions.

The competing teams are:

  • Alex Le'Marquand and Neal Harding from the RAF
  • Wayne Corbett and Nicola Harper from Compass Group UK & Ireland
  • Andrew Foulis and Marina Kritikopoulou from the House of Commons
  • Istvan (Steve) Jonas and Ross Hamilton from Sodexo SFRS Scotland
  • Saurav Nath and Vaibhav Patil from JKS Restaurants
  • Terry O'Riordan and Oliver Jordan from the Craft Guild of Chefs
  • Stuart Dos-Anjos and George Johnson from Cheshire College South and West
  • Leon Witter and Alexis Becerra-Salas from Compass (Princess Grace hspital)
  • Lijo Joy and Sherin Sebastian from Compass (Caterham school).

Jo Witchell of Tilda Foodservice will be joined by a judging panel including Café Spice Namaste chef-patron Cyrus Todiwala; David Mulcahy, culinary ambassador for food development and innovation at Sodexo UK & Ireland; British Airways UK lounge executive head chef, Frank Coughlan; and Harry Lomas, head of culinary at Wembley Stadium.

Commenting on the competition, Annette Coggins, head of foodservice, Tilda UK, said: "It's so rewarding to see that while the hospitality industry is in recovery, so many chef teams are excited to compete and do what they love most. There is an excellent array of finalists from all sectors who will bring so much to the competition, we at Tilda are looking forward to seeing what they will create with our rice! Good luck chefs!"

The finalists will have 45 minutes to prepare four portions of a main and dessert that use rice at the heart of each dish. The judges will be looking for creative dishes that celebrate global cuisines, inspiring trends and exquisite flavour combinations.

The winning team will receive the title of Tilda Chef Team of the Year 2021 and a trophy, as well as joining Tilda's Winning Circle. A gastro trip to Italy is also part of the prize, to be taken when travel restrictions allow.
