Time for tea with Unilever Food Solutions and NAPA

The National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and Unilever Food Solutions have teamed up to launch NAPA's first Best Ever Tea Party Award at its annual gala on 17 September.

To be eligible for the award, care homes must hold a tea party at any date up until 24 July, although they may wish to stage their event over the NAPA Challenge weekend from 20-22 June.

Along with the kudos of being named the winner, there are also some great prizes on offer for the winning care home. They will receive £250 to be spent on activities, along with a hamper filled with treats.

Sylvie Silver, director of NAPA, said: "We're excited to be launching our first Best Ever Tea Party Award and to be working with Unilever. Afternoon tea parties are a great way to bring residents together and turn the serving of afternoon tea into a sociable experience. Getting the local community involved can add to the sense of occasion and help build new friendships.

"By inviting the local community, people will be able to see first-hand the great time residents have in the care home."

James Allred, Unilever channel marketing manager, added: "The award is in keeping with one of our major goals in the care sector - to promote activities that keep residents' minds active and help care homes turn meal and snack-times into memorable experiences."
