Bernard Matthews Foodservice is encouraging caterers to champion British turkey as an under-used protein source for children, with its Cooked Sliced Turkey Breast in Stock. As well as meeting School Food Trust nutritional guidelines, the new product is part of the company's Big Green Tick range created in partnership with UK school caterers.
There are 18-22 turkey slices per 1kg pack. A 100g serving contains 1.5g of fat and less than 200mg of salt. The turkey slices are also free from artificial colours, preservatives and flavours and are made from 100% British turkey breast meat marinated in turkey stock.
