UV-C grease and odour control from Extechnology

Patented UV-C technology from Extechnology offers an energy-efficient way of controlling odours and grease in commercial kitchens.

Extraction systems, the biggest energy-gobblers in a chef's kitchen, become even more power-hungry when used with carbon filters, which restrict air flow and necessitate the use of bigger fans.

The EXE 12 unit uses UV-C technology to produce ozone and hydroxyl free radicals to oxidise grease and odours, which are converted to harmless compounds such as water vapour and carbon dioxide.

Unlike other UV-C systems, the EXE-12 is located outside the air flow of the extraction system - it connects to the canopy or duct via two connecting spigots - and so will not lead to the pressure drops that affect in-line set-ups. This external location also eliminates the need to continually clean tubes, which simply need to be replaced every 12,000 hours.
