Winners of the first Footprint Awards unveiled

Food service suppliers and distributors won seven of the 14 categories in the http://www.caterersearch.com/Articles/2010/12/16/336410/Footprint-Awards-launched-for-UK-food-service.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">inaugural Footprint Awards, the first designed to reward sustainability and environmental excellence in the foodservice sector.

Overall winners included suppliers Gram (for its Compact range of refrigeration), Greenvale, Space Catering Equipment, Nestlé Professional, the Paper Pallet Company and wholesale distributors Brakes and Creed Foodservice.

Among the runners-up were distributors 3663 (for two categories), Reynolds, and Creed Foodservice; suppliers Cafédirect, Alpro Soya, Llanllyr Water Company, Winterhalter, Meiko, and Dudson; and food-sourcing specialist Partners in Purchasing.

The awards were open to all parts of the food service supply chain, from suppliers and distributors to caterers and hotels.
