Chef Mike Reid has collaborated with food photographer Julian George on a series of images of chefs to mark Black History Month.
Made You Look is a collaboration between photographer Julian George and Mike Reid, culinary director at M Restaurants. The series poses the question: why doesn't the restaurant industry, food media and the broader food world shine more of a light on these chefs?
George says: "The series of photographs is a visual celebration of talented black chefs at all levels. Each portrait is visually striking, with a burst of colour that's indicative of Black culture. It's an invitation to look beyond the frames, to find out more about these chefs.
"We have an audience that has been totally starved of a reflection of themselves in food media," he adds. "This project hopes to redress that, and, most importantly, to inspire the next generation to look at these images and dream a little bigger about their possibilities."
