Compass Charity Ball raises over £100,000 for Cancer Research
Compass Group has raised more than £100,000 for Cancer Research UK at its inaugural charity ball held at Wimbledon.
The contract caterer celebrated the third year of its relationship with the charity at the Gatsby Club, one of the venues at which Compass provides hospitality at The Championships Wimbledon.
Former British tennis star Annabel Croft and comedian Tony Hawks hosted the event, while guests enjoyed a Champagne reception followed by a three course meal designed by Albert Roux, followed by entertainment provided by soul singer Beverley Knight.
Ian Sarson, group managing director at Compass, said it was extremely rewarding to see so many people from across the industry come together to support Cancer Research.
He added: "I want to thank everyone who attended and supported this event, it was a great night with exceptional food and service and I am delighted that we have managed to raise over £100,000 for such a worthwhile cause."
To date, Compass has already raised over £650,000 for Cancer Research UK. Jools Tait, director of partnerships at the charity, said: "We have been overwhelmed with the tremendous response to our partnership and the Wimbledon Charity Ball was a resounding success."
