Innovate Services launches into primary school catering market
Secondary school and college caterer Innovate Services has launched into the primary school catering market with a new service called Innovate 4 Little People.
Its move into the market kicked off at the start of the 2014/2015 school year with new contracts at a number of primary schools across the UK.
These include Aylesbury Vale, Hillcrest Early Years Academy, Lea Francis Olive Anderson in Lincolnshire, Glory Farm in Oxfordshire, Chepping View Primary Academy in Buckinghamshire and Littletown Primary Academy in Devon.
Innovate 4 Little People is designed to provide a complete catering service to primary schools, including the delivery of Universal Infant Free School Meals for children in key stage one classes.
The fully catered service delivers freshly cooked, seasonal food to the school or can cook on site, depending on the in-school facilities. It also provides pack away dining room facilities and the food is served at ready-laid tables that include plates, cutlery, water, salad crudités and bread rolls.
Commenting on the launch of the new service, Innovate chief executive Derick Martin said: "Our new service is a fully-catered model that not only provides children with a real ‘dining experience' with freshly prepared, seasonal produce, but we've also launched an online ordering service that means parents can pre-book the meals that they want for their children in advance.
"The Innovate 4 Little People service is all about making healthy, freshly-made food completely accessible to primary school children, and the feedback we have received since launching at the start of the term has been very positive indeed."
