Sodexo Prestige scoops £100m contract extension at Ascot Racecourse
Sodexo Prestige has scooped a lucrative contract extension at Ascot Racecourse, estaimated to be worth £100m in total turnover.
The hospitality provider, which has been the venue's exclusive caterer since 1998, will now operate at the racecourse for a further five years.
As well as the sales and delivery of all hospitality packages on racedays, including serving about 300,000 visitors over the five day Royal meeting each year, Sodexo Prestige will manage the catering for the non-raceday activities, such as the numerous conferences and events held at the course each year
David Johnson, managing director - sports & leisure, England & Wales, said: "By renewing our contract, it shows the strength of our partnership that has been developed over the years and because of this the contract did not go out to competitive tender.
"Over the next five years, we can look forward to many defining moments at Ascot Racecourse, including the tercentenary of Ascot racecourse this year and in 2012 we will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty The Queen."
Charles Barnett, chief executive officer for Ascot Racecourse, added: "Sodexo Prestige is one of the most innovative catering companies I have had the pleasure of working with."
