ACT wins cleaning contract for the Savoy hotel

ACT, the hospitality contract catering cleaning specialist, has won the contract to clean the Savoy hotel upon reopening following its £100m-plus refurbishment.

The five-star, 268-bedroom hotel, which closed in December 2007, is due to reopen in September.

ACT will supply and manage all cleaning of the hotel's guest areas and kitchen, as well as supply kitchen porters for events and functions.

The company already provides the cleaning and kitchen porters for Simpson's-in-the-Strand, which, like the Savoy, is owned by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

"The names don't get much bigger than the Savoy hotel and we are delighted to be working together with their team," said ACT director Robert Beaugié. "The eyes of the world will be on the hotel when it reopens and we cannot wait to help the Savoy shine."

In the past few months ACT has won contracts for Tate Catering, One Aldwych, Caprice Holdings and the Soho House Group.
