Mandarin Oriental ballroom to be restored
The historic ballroom at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hyde Park in London is to be restored and reopened in the New Year.
The London landmark will undergo a six-week restoration project, undertaken by royal architects Donald Insall Associates, the firm that was responsible for conservation work on Windsor Castle after the 1992 fire.
The ballroom will be returned to the condition it was in when it first opened in 1911. The architects plan to restore the original French classical designs by Mewes and Davis.
