ALMR announces winners of 2016 Operations Managers awards
The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) has revealed the winners of its 2016 ALMR Operations Managers Awards.
Neil McKie (pictured) of Stonegate Pub Company has been named Area Manager of the Year, while Paul Wishart of Greene King Pub Partners took the prize for Business Development Manager of the Year.
Alix Horne of Punch Taverns was also highly commended by the judges in the annual awards which recognise the best and brightest licensed hospitality operators.
The winners were announced yesterday (7 November) at the Hilton Kensington in London following a mentoring process and weekend-long masterclass testing the finalists' enthusiasm, dynamism and business acumen.
Judges were impressed by the winners' professionalism and passion for licensed retail.
Nick Bish, founder of the ALMR Ops Awards, said: "Each year the awards process seeks to uncover, acknowledge and celebrate those individuals at the cutting edge of licensed hospitality. These men and women are the driving force behind the dynamic and thriving pubs and bars across the country.
"Congratulations to Neil and Paul. Their enthusiasm and dedication has shone through and they are very worthy winners and a great asset to UK licensed hospitality."
Kate Nicholls, ALMR chief executive, added: "The Ops Awards is one of the ALMR's greatest assets and we are incredibly proud to be able to highlight the fantastic work being carried out by talented operations managers throughout the country."
