Barracuda to open 170th pub next week

Barracuda will open its 170th pub next week as part of a flurry of activity that will see six new outlets launched within 10 days.

Under the Smith & Jones brand, the Exchequer in Kirkcaldy opened on 5 December, followed by the Pembroke in Gravesend and the Paddock in Uttoxeter.

Next week three more sites launch on the 14th comprising the Calder in Accrington (also a Smith & Jones) and two Barracuda Bars in Hinckley, Leicestershire; and Redcar, Yorkshire.

The sites were previously alternative use premises and represent a £5.8m investment, which will create around 200 new jobs.

Managed chain Barracuda completed a secondary buyout earlier this year valued at £262m.
