Glendola Leisure to open £1.5m Glasgow brewpub

Glendola Leisure is to open a brewpub in Glasgow city centre this week.

The Shilling Brewing Co is a £1.5m investment to transform a Bank of Scotland building into a 160-cover bar, which will also serve artisan pizzas.

It is Glendola's first foray into the brewpub market, with beers on offer created by head brewer Declan McCaffery on the premises alongside a range of craft ales.

Managing director of Glendola Leisure Group, Alexander Salussolia, said: "At the forefront of this experience is our very own core range of beers; designed to be enjoyed fresh from the source, just metres from where the beer is brewed.

"As well as the traditional beer offering, our city centre brewpub will feature independent craft brews from around the world, as well as a food offering artisan pizza, made fresh in a cupola oven using dough raised with brewers' yeast."

Glendola operates four venues in Glasgow, the Carlton George hotel, Waxy O'Connor's, Alston Bar & Beef, and Gordon St Coffee.
