MPs table Early Day Motion on beer duty escalator

The All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group chairman Andrew Griffiths has tabled an early day motion (EDM), calling on the Government to conduct a review of the economic and social impact of the beer duty escalator.

The move came the Treasury announced it had "no plans" for a review, despite a Parliamentary debate on the issue, which some MPs argue is making beer in pubs unaffordable.

The motion currently has eight signatures.
