Sager + Wilde founder launches solo venture in East London

Founder of Sager + Wilde Charlotte Wilde has announced the launch of her first solo venture this Autumn.

Darling will open in a 50-cover, 4,000 sq ft space off Dalston's Kingsland Road incorporating a wine bar, kitchen and production space.

Wilde said: "I am so excited to be opening this versatile space in the heart of such a vibrant community, and in such an iconic venue. I can't wait to bring a fresh offering to London's wine scene that will make brilliant wines accessible and affordable."

The Grade II-listed space has been transformed in partnership with restoration specialist Andy Bird and incorporates the sea-coloured tiles left from a traditional pie and mash shop that stood on the site since 1910.

Dan Wilson has joined from Dandy to head up the kitchen, offering a seasonal, a la carte menu of modern European dishes as well as a bar snacks menu.

The wine list has been curated by Wilde and features both traditional and natural production techniques while cocktails have been designed by Tom Soden, of Nine Lives Bar and former Director of Sweet & Chilli, taking inspiration from the decadent decay of the venue's aesthetics and history.

The sites also incorporates a private dining room, photography studio, events space and terrace.
