Wetherspoon starts development on £4.5m Ramsgate pavilion site

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon has begun its £4.5m development of a site at Ramsgate's Royal Victoria Pavilion, which is set to be one of the largest Wetherspoon pubs in the UK when it opens in July 2017.

The company is also seeking other operators to accompany it in the Grade II-listed pavilion.

The 20,000 sq ft site, formerly a concert hall and assembly room, is owned by Wetherspoon, which will be anchoring the new development and is looking to rent out parts of it to other operators. Units range from 1,000 sq ft to 12,000 sq ft and have sea views and the potential for outdoor seating.

The brand is particularly seeking restaurant, bar and café operators, but has said it will also consider other retailers for the development.
