Wetherspoon's finance director and chief operating officer to leave

Pub operator JD Wetherspoon is to part company with its finance director and chief operating officer.

The firm said that Keith Down, who serves as finance director and company secretary, and Paul Harbottle, chief operating officer, will leave the company "in due course".

Chief executive John Hutson will take on Harbottle`s responsibilities as chief operating officer on "an ongoing basis" the company said.

Meanwhile, Kirk Davis, deputy finance director, has been appointed interim finance director.

Tim Martin, chairman of JD Wetherspoon, said: "The board would like to thank Keith and Paul for their hard work and contribution to JD Wetherspoon over recent years. We wish them well in their future careers."
