Vaccine passport

The government has called for evidence towards a consultation on proposals for mandatory Covid certification in a ‘Plan B’ scenario in England.

A nightclub trade body has said it is “deeply disappointed” after its legal bid to stop the introduction of Scotland’s vaccine passport scheme was dismissed by a judge.

The Scottish government has been accused of “ignoring” the concerns of the hospitality sector and “rushing through” Covid passports, a move described as “damaging” to the industry.

The requirement for nightclubs and venues hosting mass events to make use of vaccine passports is expected to be introduced in England by the end of this month, vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi has confirmed.
