Loungers, the operator of 164 Lounge café bars and 31 Cosy Club restaurant bars, has said it expects profitability for the financial year to be slightly ahead of market expectations in light of the group’s strong performance post-Christmas.

Loungers, operator of 153 Lounge café-bars and 31 Cosy Cub restaurant-bars across England and Wales, has reported revenue growth of 91.4% to £102.4m in its financial results for the 24 weeks ended 3 October 2021.

The new restriction banning gatherings of more than six people from Monday has left nearly a third of consumers feeling less confident about visiting pubs, bars and restaurants, according to a new poll.

Loungers has said like-for-like sales across its 165-site estate have been just 1.7% down since it commenced its reopening programme on 4 July.
