Carbis Bay hotel has revealed plans to return to nature an area used to accommodate world leaders during the G7 summit in 2021.

Local councillors have ordered Mark Hix to remove the outdoor deck area set up at his restaurant by Friday (31 March).

A government minister has written to councils urging them to avoid “overzealous” enforcement of reopening rules on outdoor hospitality.

Restaurants, pubs and cafés will get automatic freedoms to provide takeaway services for another year.
