German manufacturer Winterhalter has long taken a different approach to warewasher design than most of its competitors, a notable example being its use of fixed rather than rotating wash arms.
The company believes that this system is better at reaching every part of every dish throughout the wash cycle. A technique called "collision wash jet technology" has been evolved to further boost cleaning power on the GS502 pass-through dishwasher, with the fixed arms fitted with special nozzles that collide together twin jets of water. The machines have a rated capacity of up to 60 racks per hour with a wash cycle time of one minute.
The Winterhalter range extends from single rack undercounter glasswashers to utensil washers and automatic conveyor-based modular systems capable of turning out up to 220 racks of dishes per hour. It can additionally supply a range of ancillary equipment such as the RoMatik reverse osmosis system which is claimed to remove up to 96 % of dissolved solids from incoming water without requiring pre-softening. The unit has a modest working footprint of 500 x 225mm.
