Dave &Buster's set for Solihull

Dave & Buster's, the American restaurant-cum-entertainment centre chain which Bass is bringing to the UK, is set to open its first site at Solihull in the West Midlands next year.

Bass Leisure Entertainments (BLE) plans to open the first Dave & Buster's in spring 1997 on a four-acre site off the A34. It will sit alongside a UCI cinema and an Italian restaurant, Dacorrada.

BLE signed its franchising agreement for Dave & Buster's back in August 1995. The first outlet was expected to open in or around London, but the company is still in negotiations over a site in Croydon, Surrey.

The second of BLE's Dave & Buster's is likely to open either at Croydon or at a site in Leeds.

Dave & Buster's has eight outlets in America. BLE's UK sites will follow the same concept as there, with south-central US food such as fish, pasta, steak and grills, and amusement machines and video games. Nine openings are planned over the next five years.
