E Viva Ice-spana

The MC45 ice-making machine from Scotsman isn't a new unit, but thanks to an unusual request from a Spanish bar chain the company has dioscovered it can perform a new trick: make giant ice cubes. Although supercubes have been available in 8G, 20G and 39g sizes before, the Spanish version weighed in at a massive 60g, with a diameter of 46mm and a height of 49mm - perfect for a high ball. As well as providing a striking visual effect, the large cubes also havethe advantage of lasting much longer than standard ice, meaning there is less watering-down of the drink. The MC45 is capable of producing 300kg of ice each day.
