Tim Henderson-Ross has joined Milburns Restaurants, where he will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities in his role as commercial director.
In the past 12 months Milburns has won several catering contracts, including the Bishop's Palace at Wells in Somerset, and the Octagon Café at the Royal Photographic Society, Bath. Most recently, the company was appointed to handle the catering at the Globe Theatre, London, and at St Paul's Cathedral.
Mr Henderson-Ross joins from BiBS-Industry, a consultancy based in Saudi Arabia, where he was a director.
Roux scholar blyth is head chef
Trevor Blyth, Roux Diners Club Scholar 1996, has been appointed head chef at central London restaurant Alfred, which specialises in traditional British cooking.
Mr Blyth's scholarship prize took him to La Côte St-Jacques restaurant in Joigny, France, last summer. Prior to that he was head chef at Giraud's restaurant in Burnham, Buckinghamshire.
Since returning from France, Mr Blyth has also spent some time working at Brasserie Highgate in north London.
Bidwell to top job at carnegie club
James Bidwell has been appointed marketing director and joint managing director of the Carnegie Club, from marketing director at Sega Amusements Europe.
In his new role, Mr Bidwell has responsibility for sales and marketing at Skibo Castle, near Inverness, Stapleford Park in Leicestershire, and the London Outpost. The group plans to open two more Carnegie Club Outposts this year, in Tuscany and the USA.
marketing is kalirai's forte
Suki Kalirai has been appointed marketing director at Forte Hotels, taking over from acting marketing director Paul Neep. Mr Kalirai was previously marketing director and acting chairman at SeaPerfect, a seafood production and marketing company.
Meanwhile, Caroline Bellenger joins Forte's Compleat Angler hotel in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, as general manager. Ms Bellenger was previously executive assistant to the general manager at the Waldorf Méridien, London.
Ashton makes tracks to stakis
Mike Ashton is to join Stakis as marketing director, hotels, replacing Mike Glancy who left recently to join Doyle Hotels in Dublin. Mr Ashton, currently marketing manager of ScotRail, will report directly to Anthony Harris, managing director of Stakis Hotels.
Key posts filled at conran's bluebird
With just 10 weeks until the opening of Conran Restaurants' Bluebird project in London, a number of key appointments have been made.
Lawrence Keogh, executive chef at Smollensky's Restaurants, joins as head chef of the Bluebird restaurant.
Claire Clark, who recently became the first woman chef to win a Meilleur Ouvrier de Grande Bretagne award, joins Bluebird as head pastry chef from the same position at the House of Commons.
Ian Campbell, previously an executive chef at contract caterer Quadrant, heads up the Bluebird production kitchen. Melissa Caruth, formerly owner/manager of Snows on the Green restaurant at Shepherds Bush, west London, has also joined the team as manager of the Bluebird's private members' club.
Orsi's ship comes in at Olympia
Beeton Rumford has appointed Pepe Orsi as banqueting manager at the Olympia exhibition centre, London, with specific responsibilities for function catering, private hospitality and out-of-show banquets. Mr Orsi joins Beeton Rumford from the Royal Navy, where he was an accommodation manager.
James Crouch also joins Beeton Rumford's Earls Court team as banqueting manager. Mr Crouch was previously conference and banqueting manager at the Kensington Palace Thistle hotel.
