Ken McCulloch, founder of Malmaison and Columbus hotel chains, is launching a mid-market hotel group.
A spokeswoman for McCulloch confirmed newspaper reports that the Glaswegian hotelier was launching a new hotel chain called Inn Coach but would not add any further details to the reports.
According to reports, McCulloch won backing from a number of investors including, Formula One racing driver David Coulthard and US property developer Peter Morris.

Although no sites have been secured in the UK yet, sites in the Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Yorkshire, Newbury and Reading are thought to be under negotiation.
McCulloch said he would not comment on the new chain until next week.
