Sarah Bestwick has joined the Watford Moat House hotel as general manager. She was customer sales manager at the Nottingham Moat House hotel.

 

Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced a couple of appointments. Keith Hass has joined the Hilton Omaha, Nebraska, which opens in April next year, as general manager. He was general manager at the Doubletree hotel, Omaha. Lee Chipman has travelled several thousand miles to take on the role of general manager of the Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort, Mexico. He was general manager of the Hilton Anchorage hotel in Alaska.

 

Management recruitment company Hocaps has launched its subsidiary Belgravia International into the executive search market, prompting the appointment of four directors to head operations. Director Annie Jones was previously international management development director at Hilton International, based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Director David Walters, who has been heavily involved in the creation and launch of the new agency, was vice-president of human resources Europe at the then Six Continents, based in Windsor, Berkshire. Director Mike Hope joins from reservations company Rezsolutions, where he was chief operating officer, while Rafat Wasef, owner of Hocaps, has taken on the mantle of Belgravia International's managing director.

 

University of Warwick philosophy graduate Rachael Page has become sales manager at Warwick Conferences, a commercial arm of the town's university.

 

The development of the Le Méridien Grosvenor House Hotel and Hotel Apartments in West Marina beach resort, Dubai, has been put in the hands of Pam Wilby. She is currently general manager of the Le Méridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai and has assumed the dual role in the run-up to the Grosvenor's end-of-2004 opening.

 

Claire Clark, head pastry chef at the Hilton London Metropole hotel, has been appointed chairman of the Association of Pastry Chefs. Alan Whatley, pastry lecturer at Brooklands College, Weybridge, has stepped down from the role and is now vice-chairman to Clark.

 

Juice company Outspan Fresh has recruited Jackie Venn as managing director, to be based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. She was regional managing director for 24seven Vending.

 

Papa John's, owner of the Perfect Pizza restaurant brand, has welcomed Chris Macleod to its Chertsey, Surrey, headquarters. Macleod has taken on the role of marketing director for the UK and Europe. He was formerly a managing partner at communications company McCann-Erickson.

 

The former private rooms manager at London's Savoy hotel, Stephanie Ellrott, has joined the Royal College of Physicians in London as manager of meetings and events. The college has just gained Hospitality Assured accreditation and is seeking to grow its conference and events business.

 

InterContinental Hotels Group has reorganised its management team, dividing up the previous Europe, Middle East and Africa region into four geographic areas. John Bamsey, previously area president for Europe, has become chief operating officer for the UK and Ireland. Heinz Strobl has become chief operating officer for western and southern Europe. He was previously area vice-president of operations for western Europe. Arie van der Spek, previously senior vice-president of the company's franchise business, has become chief operating officer for central and eastern Europe. And Chris Moloney has become chief operating officer for the Middle East and Africa. He was area vice-president of operations for the Middle East and Africa.

 

Beacon, the purchasing division of independent hotel consortium Best Western, has added two new members to its York-based buying and sales team. Paul Connelly has joined as purchasing executive for the utilities and services division. He was a buying manager at travel company USIT. Beacon also has a new purchasing consultant for the Midlands in the form of Helen Wood. She was previously a key accounts manager for Alpha Supplies' beverage department.

 

Alison Pardoe has become Corus Hotels' national account manager for the UK and Germany, based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. She will report to Lynne Mallows, Corus Hotels' head of national accounts, and joins from Le Méridien, where she was account director.
