Riverside pub to double as care home

A RECENTLY sold pub and restaurant on the banks of the River Severn is to have a new dual role as a care home for people with learning difficulties.

Gloucester-based care firm Headwind paid Pubmaster around £190,000 for the Windbound, near Thornbury, which includes a 34-seat restaurant and bar, plus two four-bedroom flats.

The bar and restaurant will remain open to the public while other facilities in the premises will be used for day and residential care.
