THE Romatik reverse osmosis water purifying unit launched by Winterhalter at Hospitality, and winner of the Gold award for New Equipment Product, promises streak-free results when connected to glasswashers and dishwashers.
The compact unit purifies incoming cold water via a combination of fine particle filter, carbon filter and micro-fine membrane, enabling up to 96 per cent of all totally dissolved solids to be removed. This includes all calcium deposits, so no need for a water softening unit.
The unit is housed in a high-impact casing and is compact enough, at 465mm high x 225mm wide x 395mm deep, to locate adjacent to most cabinet or pass-through washers. It is rated to treat up to 182 litres of cold mains water per hour so does not require a separate storage tank for treated water. List price is £2,992.
No cartridge replacement is needed, as on demineralisation filters, but half-yearly cleaning of the Romatik's sediment and carbon filters is recommended.
A full service contract is available at £422 per year. Winterhalter is offering the unit for use with glasswashers, cabinet dishwashers and pass-through machines, both its own machines and other makes.
