Sherry shake-up

Gonzalez Byass has upgraded its core range of sherry to further rejuvenate interest in sherry and attract a younger drinker. This follows the May relaunch of its number one selling Fino, Tio Pepe.

The Gonzalez Byass range comprises:

El Rocio, an elegant Manzanilla de Sanlucar de Barrameda, the lightest, driest and most delicate sherry, made from the classic Palomino grape. This wine should be served cool and can be served with tapas, fresh fish and seafood, as well as Thai curries or an authentic Chinese stir fry.

Elegante is a classic Fino - the driest style of sherry along with Manzanilla. It has a soft, full palate and makes an excellent aperitivo. Traditionally drunk with soup (especially gazpacho), it is also suitable for fish and chips and Indian curries.

La Concha has a walnut tint, with aromatic hints of toffee and vanilla. The taste is medium dry, but with a clean freshness. It can be served with cake, as well as with sandwiches or a chunk of mature Cheddar cheese.
