Wholesaler Booker has relaunched its frozen chips and fries range with 10 lines under its Chef’s Essentials, Chef’s Menu and Chef’s Premium brands, giving good, better and best options. The top tier Chef’s Premium range of frozen chips is created for handmade look and feel and includes Super Crispy Skin-On Fries, Super Crispy Fries and Triple Cooked Chunky Chips. Under the mid-tier Chef’s Menu, there are Crispy Straight Cut Chips (10mm and 12mm), Crispy Steak Cut Chips, Crispy Julienne Fries and Crispy Skin-On Straight Cut Chips – all lightly coated, and Booker’s Chef’s Essentials range features two entry-level products – uncoated Chunky Chips (14mm) and Straight Cut Chips (10mm).

Taylor UK is supplying the Taylor 430 frozen beverage machine. The compact countertop unit can create hand-spun milkshakes, which are made by blending ice-cream and flavourings, rather than using a pre-made mix. The 13.2 litre hopper offers a production capacity of 40.8 litres of thick shake an hour – up to 100 12oz portions. The unit measures 700mm (h) x 408mm (w) x 701mm (d), and is powered by a standard 13A socket, making it suitable for use in areas with limited space.

The Italian Beverage Company (IBC Simply) has launched Twist Syrups, designed for foodservice, QSRs and coffee shops. The syrups, which come in Toasted, Cookie, Chilli and Salted flavours, can be used across hot and cold drinks. The pump bottles offer 4ml of syrup per pump, which equates to an average cost-per-serve of 6p.

TurboChef has introduced the Double Batch, a twin deck oven for speedy cooking. It has two independently-controlled cooking chambers in a 704mm wide by 805mm deep and 589mm compact footprint. Cooking is by impinged air circulating at speeds of up to 50mph, which can bake a fresh 16” pizza in as little as two and a half minutes. The Double Batch is controlled by TurboChef’s One Touch screen, a smart menu system that holds unlimited recipes. Oscillating racks help with heat transfer and give even, spot-free cooking.

Funnybones Foodservice has expanded its range of internationally-inspired ingredients with the addition of chilled Mexican-style pink pickled onion. The finely sliced onions add a subtle sour sharpness and can be used to garnish tacos, sandwiches and salads.

Regale has unveiled the recyclable Microsave Generation 2 (Gen:2) microwave cavity liner. Like the original Microsave, Gen:2 protects microwave equipment from grease and food particles which, if left, can cause serious damage. Both models are dishwasher safe and the new liner is fully compatible with the Panasonic NE-1878, NE-1864 and NE-1815 inverter microwaves.
